Heath is an approximately seven-year-old merle Great Dane who is now in the care of Big Hearts for Big Breeds and ready for a fresh start with the right home. With his striking coat and mature presence, Heath is a classic gentle giant who simply needs the right environment to feel secure and understood. Heath is generally good with people, but he can be protective in the home, so he will do best with experienced adopters who understand large breeds and can provide structure, boundaries, and leadership. His compatibility with children is currently unknown, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy teens would likely be the best fit. Heath will need to be the only dog in the home, where he can relax and not feel the need to share his space. In the right setting — calm, consistent, and patient — Heath has the potential to be a deeply loyal and devoted companion.
