Rescue Details

Tawny is a two-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier who came to Big Hearts for Big Breeds after being found as a stray. Right now, the world still feels a little overwhelming to her, and she is understandably very scared — but she is finally safe. In the quiet comfort of her foster home, Tawny is beginning to decompress and take in her new surroundings. While she’s still unsure, we’re starting to see small, beautiful glimpses of the sweet girl she truly is — soft eyes, gentle moments, and a quiet willingness to trust. Tawny doesn’t need much right now except time, patience, and calm, consistent love. The Big Hearts for Big Breeds team is committed to giving her exactly that — helping her rebuild confidence at her own pace and rediscover the light that’s still inside her. We know that with continued care and understanding, Tawny will continue to blossom. Her journey is just beginning, and we’re honored to be part of it.
