Size: XLarge
Coat: Tawny
Gender: Female
Opal is a beautiful two-and-a-half-year-old Neapolitan Mastiff who is now safe in the care of Big Hearts for Big Breeds, where she’s finally receiving the love and medical support she deserves. Opal was diagnosed with Valley Fever about a year ago, but without consistent treatment, the disease progressed — and heartbreakingly, it has now affected her brain. Despite everything she’s been through, Opal’s spirit remains tender and sweet. She is very shy and understandably scared, but in a quiet, loving environment, she’s beginning to rest and heal. Opal is kennel trained and has shown herself to be gentle and appropriate with kids, other dogs, and even cats. She’s currently settled into a soft, safe place where she can focus on treatment, comfort, and recovery. Opal’s journey is one of resilience and quiet courage. Right now, she’s surrounded by care, patience, and compassion — exactly what she needs as she continues to heal. We look forward to supporting her every step of the way and honoring the beautiful soul she is.
